A Tropical Storm named Beryl comes to visit on Memorial Day!

Today is Memorial Day 2012! I am blessed to have so many people in my life... and to those who have served! GOD BLESS THEM!!

Josh (Center) ,,, Cody (Facing Josh).. This was a Great Day!
Proud of this man every single day still!
A Tropical Storm is coming assure for 2 days now.. Named BERYL (who picks these names??).  She/He is wimpy... We had Gorgeous day yesterday with incredible winds until the gray clouds started in during the afternoon. Today she has wimped out. Just some sprinkles and clouds and light breezes. (THANK GOD!)

From the Shrimp Boat Docks in Thunderbolt... BERYL on Sunday afternoon...

Nice hair! Why bother.. You would not believe the wind!

So on a gray, rainy day Memorial Day.. what does one do in Thunderbolt?? Well.. I found an Estate Sale. Just across from Tubby's, in one of the unassuming condos on the banks of the Wilmington River. This particular condo was 7,000 Sq ft! Yes .. That is Large!! Here's the story. This lovely Savannah Native lived out her remaining years in two combined condos on the Wilmington River. You would never know it was that big.. it was a maze of rooms and STUFF! Gold, bedazzled, bejeweled STUFF! She had taken gorgeous old paintings and glued glitter, rhinestones, trim, and jewels to them. ANGELS everywhere! Gold Trinkets EVERYWHERE! Here's to the saying.. YOU CAN'T TAKE IT WITH YOU!! The walls were Peach with cream trim. She had a portrait of herself over her fireplace in her living room that overlooked the river on the second floor. She had been gorgeous in her youth!

So, after two different women had driven by my lil cottage and told me I should check it out. (People are so very friendly in T'bolt), I decided to take a ride down. OH MY GOSH! I wish I had had my camera. It was overwhelming.. more overwhelmning than what I believe people feel like when they walk in my house!

It seems most items were newish from TJ Maxx and Home Goods and a lot (I am talking A LOT) of fabric and trim. So I scavenged and pillaged and I found a few little things. Here ya go:

Lil  gilded soap dish and a blue and white cat! $1 each

Small vintage dish from HOTEL RICHMOND, Copenhagen $1

Small vintage soap dish from ROYAL-MONCEAU Hotel in Paris $1

Set of 5 lil white dessert plates from Copenhagen $1. Love these!
And an item I must add from a garage sale around the corner yesterday afternoon:

Vintage yard sign, perfect in front of my tomato plants! The owner said that her grandmother had had this in her front life her entire life and she believed since the 1950s. I just love the lil Red Bird and nest on top.

THERE IS BEAUTY IN THE SUNLIGHT
AND THE SOFT BLUE HEAVEN ABOVE
OH, THE WORLD IS FULL OF BEAUTY
WHEN THE HEART IS FULL OF LOVE!
